The rhythms of modern day life dictate that we work at certain times, exercise when we plan to, and generally keep to a schedule. The problem is that as women, our bodies operate cyclically, and not according to the typical linear timeline we’re taught to mold ourselves around.
This means that depending on where you are in your cycle, you may find yourself moving much more slowly on certain days…. and that’s exactly how it’s supposed to be. If we listen to those signals and learn to move through life according to internal cues (rather than by what we think we “should” do), the reward is greater vitality, emotional balance and even an abundance of creativity.
Over the next day or so, see if you can catch yourself feeling like you should do something that your body is saying “no” to. Then notice what happens when you shift out of that and allow your body to guide you. Obviously, there are times when this is not feasible, but by honoring our bodies’ messages when possible, we create a foundation of health to carry us through times of stress.
